Research

Advanced Health Intelligence (AHI, formerly Advanced Human Imaging) is an Australian digital health company. It sells patented, camera-based health assessment tools: FaceScan (vitals estimated from a phone or web camera), BodyScan (body composition) and a Digital Health Assessment (cardiovascular, metabolic and mental health risk). Its use cases are insurer risk stratification and underwriting and engaging remote populations. It acquired Wellteq in 2022, then shut down that wellness platform and terminated all its customer agreements (H1 FY24 report). It was removed from the ASX in October 2025 for failing to lodge periodic reports. I found no public confirmation of the 2026 administration or the DOCA. Whether the business is still operating is unclear.

Human hours a week after AI10-20 hours a week. Compliance, model upkeep and enterprise relationships would remain, and sales effort is on top of that.
AI and tools can doHosting and updates, backups, monitoring, billing, first-line support and website changes could all be automated. Routine SDK bug fixes could use AI coding tools.
Operating changesAssumed changes: stop bespoke pilots and demos for enterprises, move all support to email and docs, and raise prices. The timing depends on the contract terms, which are unknown. Costs could include losing insurer or enterprise clients who expect account management. Any contracts may not survive the administration or the DOCA.
Stays humanHandling regulated health and biometric data, privacy compliance, managing model accuracy and any clinical claims, enterprise sales and integration calls, handling incidents, and maintaining patents.
Why valuableIt has patented camera-based health-estimation technology and a working product set, and a distressed seller may sell it cheaply. The buyer could use it as a technology asset or white-label component.
FitPoor. The buyer wants sticky recurring B2B software that one part-time person can run. This is regulated, enterprise-sold, AI-model-heavy health technology with no evidence of recurring customers.

Next step

Check ASIC and the Published Notices site, and the administrator's (Carrello's) firm page, for the DOCA terms and creditor reports. Then ask the administrator, as a human, whether any IP is being sold and which creditors hold security over it.

Risks

  • The IP may be encumbered by secured creditors or controlled under the DOCA, so it may not be for sale
  • Health and biometric data regulation and liability
  • The company was delisted for missing reports, and Wellteq customers were terminated
  • Machine-learning models and training data may not be included in a sale
  • Patent maintenance fees and the cost of keeping the patents alive
  • The business may no longer be operating

Unknowns

  • Whether the business is still trading
  • Customer count, contracts and revenue
  • What the DOCA covers and whether any assets are being sold
  • Which assets secured creditors hold
  • Source code, model and data ownership
  • Real operational state and the team that remains

recurring_customers?unknownNo customers, revenue or pricing are public. The earlier Wellteq customers were terminated.
software_ownership4/5verifiedAHI describes its platforms as its own proprietary and patented technology. Whether the IP can be transferred is unknown, and secured creditors have claims over the assets.
customer_stickiness2/5unknownThis is an SDK/API-style assessment tool that insurers could swap out. Integration effort gives some stickiness, but no contract evidence was found.
low_operational_complexity1/5inferredThe product handles health data (regulated), uses computer-vision models that need validation, and sells to enterprise insurers through demos and meetings. Patent and clinical-claims upkeep adds to this. A part-time solo operator would struggle.
technical_recoverability2/5unknownThe stack is unknown. Custom computer-vision models and any training data would be hard for one person to maintain and retrain. Source code and model access are not confirmed.
acquisition_accessibility2/5verifiedA DOCA is a deed with creditors rather than a liquidator sale, so assets may not be available this way. The administrator is named (Carrello), but no sale notice was found.
capital_fit2/5inferredPatents and models from a company that raised many millions probably cost more than A$60k. A distressed sale might fit, but there is no price evidence.

unknown A search found no sale notice, administrator page or DOCA details for AHI.
inferred A bridging loan was secured over company assets, ranking behind two existing secured creditors. This means secured creditors may have first claim on the IP. announcements.asx.com.au
